I graduated from a commercial photography program here in Vancouver with strong technical skills and a love for the more editorial and fashion forward side of photography. But instead of pursuing commercial work I went the opposite direction and immediately began photographing weddings. I quickly learned that while I might have had the technical side of things in hand, I had a lot to learn when it came to running a business. Much of what I have learned and accomplished has been through trial and error, and there have been many evolutions in terms of my approach and personal style. I came to the realization that I could pair my love for more stylized, editorial photography with the intimacy and authenticity of weddings. And just as importantly, I realized that there was a market for it and a client who wanted to have their memories captured in that way. Over time I’ve been refining this vision and I’m really excited to see what the future has in store!
